Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known for his role as the star of the well-known TV series 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. His passion for acting started in his early college days. He studied acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active on film and television but it was his character on the small screen that earned him a cult admirers. The actor is able to create characters that reflect both the good and bad aspects in the law enforcement system. He can attract the attention of his audience easily. He played the serial killer role in his first television project as well as later portrayed as an NYPD detective. For his performances on small screens, he's been awarded many nominations for highly coveted Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. His most attractive facial feature is said to be his piercing blue eyes. They are believed as a signature and helped in portraying rough characters with charisma. He was listed in People's magazine's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
